Welcome to my blog which is all about good food, good wine and a wonderful time with family and friends.
Creamy Snoek Chowder
It is July, the wind is nippier than ever. What could be better and more wholesome than Kelly’s delicious creamy snoek chowder with the classic and mouthwatering flavours of butter, garlic an thyme. Sauvignon Blanc, with undertones of grapefruit, lemon, green herbs and minerals would be an excellent choice to complement this dish.
Steak and Mushroom Pot Pie
A warm steak and mushroom pot pie served with a Pinot Noir or Stout Beer and your choice of 3
organic vegetables or a salad will tantalize your taste buds and compliment all the best flavours from the Cape
Another famous dish from Kelly’s Kitchen is her traditional and well known waterblommetjie stew made with lamb rib and lamb shank.
It pairs perfectly with a Sauvignon Blanc or Pinotage. Served on a bed of rice and fresh lemon quarters it encourages you to savour every moment!
Springbok potjie with dumplings
Last but not least, and this is a favourite of mine. It combines everything I love about South Africa! Rugby, sunshine and a taste of safari. This brilliant Springbok potjie with dumplings bring
all the traditional flavours of South Africa together in one mouthwatering bite! Served on a bed of rice with a South African Shiraz, what could be better?
For dessert Kelly like to end your perfect meal on a sweet note and a bit untraditional.
Her browned butter sweet custard loaded with caramelized apples and baked in a buttery tart shell brings tears to your eyes. Do not miss her Chocolate Dream. Her desserts are a taste from Heaven. Ask her about her dessert wines to end a beautiful meal.
